Is a payment card pre-authorization or security deposit required?
- Is a pre-authorization on the payment card or a security deposit required?
Yes, a pre-authorization on the customer’s payment card is required before the vehicle is delivered.
If the customer wishes to pay in cash, a security deposit is required.
- How much is the pre-authorization?
The pre-authorization amount is set at €200 + VAT in addition to the rental cost.
- Is the deposit requested at the beginning of the rental on the credit card a charge?
No, it is not a charge. In the case of a monthly rental, it becomes a charge (please contact the rental agency for further information).
Before the rental, we will ensure the functionality of the payment card by blocking an amount to guarantee sufficient funds for payment.
- When will the deposit requested at the beginning of the rental be released?
If the rental amount is lower than the amount blocked on the card, the difference will be automatically released immediately after the charge and will still be available according to the timelines set by the banking circuits.
In case of delay, try contacting your bank to release the amount after the end of the rental (usually 15–20 days are required after our notification).
If, after blocking the amount, you wish to use another card for payment, this will be possible, but please note: it may take up to 28 days before the bank returns the previously blocked amount.
